| Big News from Petersfield CLT — August 2026 Update We‘re thrilled to announce a major step forward in our housing project at Reservoir Lane! On Friday 13th February, Petersfield Community Land Trust (PCLT) had the Reserved Matters planning application – for 10 Custom Build plots approved by South Downs National Park. This is a huge milestone in bringing this community-led vision to life. In July 2026, South Downs National Park approved a loan to assist with the land purchase that also helps unlock commercial funding to enable the land trust to start construction. 📅 What’s Next?The CLT has successfully extended our land option agreement through to November 2028. The final push for a funding partner is underway. Once in place construction can commence. Shortly, the new homes at Reservoir Lane are to be marketed, with the South Downs National Park Custom Build Register one of the first opportunities to reserve a plot. People on the Register will hear about the Reservoir Lane homes before wider marketing begins. A series of engagement workshops is planned. One of which was agreed at the July AGM, this is with local residents to confirm the construction management and travel management plans, so as to minimise impact to local residents during the build phase. Reservoir Lane will give homebuyers the opportunity to shape their future home without taking on the complexity of a traditional Self Build project.
Buyers will be able to choose how their rooms are arranged and select from a range of external materials, internal finishes and specification options, tailoring their home to suit their needs and lifestyle. Each home will remain part of a coherent overall design, in line with the approved planning framework.
